THE DEAD CITY
The sewer lid was replaced long ago and nobody ever fell down a well. A rusty blond makes with the stature of broad
shoulders standing outside of a new vacancy spotted a historical Big and Tall shop seemingly waiting for a seat at the newly
reconstructed restaurant next door with the whole of his family, but that was before she left him… another face in the crowd now
when the sugar dispenser on the table top still had a tab but the sugar bowl of old is now the lawn man from the Mediterranean
oddly never behind on a bill despite no one having a yard to mow. A beer bellied man sweet as sugar bides his time chatting
amicably to impatient people having missed the bus no semi-truck in sight being banned on weight restricted roads. The lawyer
arrived without a cab in sight and also missed the bus a perfect scene for the only man on a lonely bus who now sits with cruel
eyes and a forceful flirtation to his lovely blue eyed regular-order key lime pie on her way to a job interview and he too could be a
million miles away safety in the assurance of circumstance that violence will never effect him. He was the story Uncle of the
skinny red-head that left town months ago. If only he had that apartment super position that provided a key to forever adore the
key-lime pie and that was all women ever were.
Hesitation never had a name for his menu, he has been this act for long time and her perceived ’muscle’ was in his own holy
pocket after crooked front teeth explained everything about his poor troubles to poor dim Lassie eating her piece of Apple pie on
one lonely Christmas in a far away town. Snowflakes as they fall, a comment on the tip of the tongue when realization hits you
with the palm of it’s own hand, one would still have to get a ride from a friend to the airport right? He could always ask Lassie, she
was a good girl this year and to cheer a lonely man in gloomy emotion brought no greater joy to the naive Christian thanking God
for the opportunity to bring joy and happiness a perfect Angel visiting her boyfriend on Christmas Eve meeting a lonely stranger
for the first time… That was years ago and he didn’t like Apple pie anymore
